Going Off(Shore) is a platform for students across Chicago to come together to share out on any research interests related to learning. The symposium flattens the typical hierarchical design of conferences and takes on a conversational format, inviting graduate students to submit generative conversational prompts that provoke a departure from stable ground. This year, the event takes inspiration from the coming Floating Museum Project, an installation initiated by artists Faheem Majeed and Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spoffard in collaboration with architect Andrew Schachman.
There is an exciting list of guest facilitators lined up but there is still opportunity for students to submit entries. The deadline for submissions is Next Monday, March 21, 2016. The process for submitting a prompt is simple and all who submits one will be pre-registered for the event. For those who are already conducting research projects or writing a thesis, this event is especially appropriate for gaining additional insights.
